We hear about the Napa Valley regularly. Whether in movies, through travel sites or when it comes time for my parents to buy a bottle of wine. However, I did not imagine to find vineyards by hundreds, lined up one after another for dozens of kilometres. I knew the area was not very big, but I did not realize that almost all of its territory was overgrown with vines such as we see it in Europe (which I have not yet visited, my mother has told me!). To visit the area, it is better to have a car because many of the vineyards are nestled along small side roads, down very long entrances.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although its wines have only been recognized worldwide since the 1980s, vines have been cultivated there for almost 200 years. Its Mediterranean climate conducive to viticulture has made Napa Valley one of the most popular regions of the country. Rivalling Disney World and the Grand Canyon, the Napa Valley is the third most visited tourist destination in the United States. But here, no fuss, no skyscrapers, no neon lights; we breathe the fresh air in an agricultural setting. Easily accessible from San Francisco, it takes just over an hour to escape the noise of the city.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”6879″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”6877″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1541023145121{padding-bottom: 60px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]What I liked most about this short trip: landscapes, luxury hotels, good restaurants (because I like to eat everything) and vineyards (most of them) accessible to children and babies. The weather is milder than in San Francisco and everyone is so relaxed, both locals and travellers.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t3 to 5 days are necessary to truly appreciate the experience. Fewer days than that and you will not have enough time to enjoy, beyond that it could become redundant.\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t <\/div>\n \t

\n\t\t\t\tMessage From My Parents\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_column_text]If you want to get more for your money, sleep outside of Napa, either in Yountville or in Calistoga. You will find hotels which are as luxurious but more affordable. Our favourite is the new wine tasting complex \u201cThe Village\u201d which is nothing less than a \u201cvinotheque\u201d. In a building combining luxury and modernity, you can relax while tasting wines and food in nine different settings. Located South of Napa, about 10 minutes by car, this little detour is worth it!
